A bit about me...
I am a Registered Mental Health Nurse and have completed postgraduate education and supervision in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). IPT is an evidenced based treatment for depression and anxiety, and can be adapted for other mental health issues experienced. I am also trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization Therapy (EMDR) an evidence based approach that focuses on managing the symptoms of PTSD and have completed my Masters in Professional Supervision.
I have worked in a variety of settings since qualifying in 2012, starting in the UK working within inpatient mental health wards for adults. I moved to New Zealand with my husband and two daughters in 2017 and have continued to work both within inpatient mental health services and more recently working with the perinatal mental health and within the Child, Youth and Families settings as a Clinical Nurse Educator.
I am flexible in my approach and have experience in using a range of therapeutic modalities I've collected over the years - ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) DBT Skills, Distress Tolerance, EMDR and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
